Monardella villosa ssp. franciscana 'Russian River' - Russian River Coyote Mint
  • Russian River Coyote Mint (Monardella villosa ssp. franciscana 'Russian River') is a variant of the low-growing evergreen perennial species. It has a more delicate spreading form than the species, but maintains its attractive minty fragrance. Its smooth foliage complements  its robust, fluffy light purple flowers.

A butterfly favorite, Russian River Coyote Mint blooms from spring into summer when it also supports many bees and hummingbirds.

We love Russian River Coyote Mint planted in large groupings, particularly along pathways and in the front of border gardens with annuals scattered among it. Russian River Coyote Mint also performs well on slopes where soil is well draining.

It is drought tolerant; however, bloom and foliage quality improve with some summer irrigation, especially inland.
